D.C. budgets more money to overhaul Rock Creek Tennis Center. But who will manage it? The city’s new budget includes a total of $9.6 million to be devoted to the effort. The D.C. Council approved $9 million in spending on the project last year, then added in an additional $600,000 this time around. The move frustrates  neighbors and even the councilmember representing the area, who can’t understand why the city would devote money to improving the tennis center without clear answers about how it will be spent or even who will get to spend it. Bryan brothers criticize ATP’s proposal for doubles tennis: Doubles icons Bob and Mike Bryan say the ATP Tour should be expanding opportunities in the discipline instead of pushing for a reduction that they argue will cost jobs for young players. The men’s tour wants to reduce prize money and tournament sizes for doubles starting in 2028. The proposal would give doubles players just 10% of the prize money at tournaments — down from 20% — while cutting the size of the doubles fields in half. Full Story: ESPN
