Wimbledon in discussions about changing its all-white uniform policy

Wimbledon still employs a rigid all-white dress code – first implemented to camouflage sweat stains. These days it also helps the SW19 grand slam retain a sense of uniqueness in relation to the Australian Open, the French Open, and the US Open, but arguably it also curtails players’ individuality. Novak Djokovic’s secrecy with drink mixture draws scrutiny

In a video posted on social media, Djokovic’s physio Ulises Badio is seen preparing a drink in the stands during Saturday’s semifinal win over Stefanos Tsitsipas at the Paris Masters. Badio is then shielded by two other men as he finishes preparing the drink, before handing it to a ball girl to pass onto Djokovic. Full Story: CNN

Here’s Some Tennis Advice: Keep It Short

Since data started being kept in 2015, rallies lasting four shots or fewer typically account for close to 70 percent of every match. There is a correlation between winning the quick points and winning matches. UNIQLO and International Tennis Federation – Hold Wheelchair Tennis Next Gen Development Event in Oss

The Wheelchair Tennis Next Gen Development event was held on November 5th and 6th at Sportcentrum de Rusheuvel, Oss, The Netherlands, hosted in conjunction with the International Tennis Federation (ITF) and sponsored by UNIQLO. Four Dutch players and four British players, who earlier this year participated in the Wheelchair Tennis Next Gen Development Event in London, aged 12 through 18 took part. Full Story: Fast Retailing

Netflix Explores Investing in Sports Leagues, Bidding on Streaming Rights

Netflix recently bid for the streaming rights for the ATP tennis tour for some European countries, including France and the U.K., but apparently dropped out of the bidding. It also discussed bidding for a series of other events including U.K. rights to the Women’s Tennis Association and cycling competitions. Full Story: WSJ

All Tennis Courts in Asheville to be Lined for Pickleball

Parks and Recreation announced a compromise between tennis and pickleball that will see dual-lines on all courts for both pickleball and tennis. Asheville Parks and Recreation will also institute a shared use schedule with dedicated times for each sport to ensure no one user can dominate the courts, according to a Nov. 9 news release from the city.  Full Story: Citizen Times
