The opening rounds of the US Open get underway Sunday. That means it’s high time to gather barware and ingredients for the impending Honey Deuce season. This year brings an exciting new development: the official US Open Shop has created a dedicated line of Honey Deuce merchandise, expanding the ways for fans of the signature cocktail to show their love.
Glassware
By far, the best way to get Honey Deuce Cups is to attend the US Open and keep the plastic tumbler as a souvenir. Alternatively, it is now possible to obtain the official version from the US Open Shop. In previous years, the only way to get the cups was bundled with other products, which added significant cost. This year, a set of two 2025 Grey Goose® Honey Deuce™ Cups is offered for $14. This is the best deal if you don’t already own authentic drinkware from previous years. For context, buying the cocktail at the tournament in the commemorative cup will run you $23, so $14 for two empty cups is a veritable bargain.
Somehow, there are current eBay listings for used cups from previous tournaments that cost more than buying new 2025 cups from the US Open Shop. Unless you are looking to complete a collection by filling in specific years, I can’t imagine why anyone would pay a premium for an old cup.
Melon Ballers
The melon ball is essential to this cocktail. While the press release indicates that the skewer of three is an intentional choice intended to resemble a can of tennis balls, it adds more than decorative charm to the drink. My own personal “research” has convinced me that the circular shape is better to impart aromatic qualities than skewering three chunks of cubed melon. Unless you want to craft the balls by hand, you will absolutely need a melon baller when making these at home.
In years past, the US Open Shop sold a tournament-branded Melon Baller and Swizzle Sticks Set, but that is no longer offered. While that was a fun collectible, I am sure that it was not particularly authentic to how the melon balls are actually prepared onsite anyway. In years past, I recommended the OXO double-ended melon baller (<- Sponsored Link) instead, and I still stand by that recommendation. The 1-inch end is the perfect size for the Honey Deuce. The sharp edges produce precise cuts, and the non-slip handle makes it comfortable to use. It’s also dishwasher-safe and easy to clean.
Skewers
Any skewer can technically hold melon balls, but if you’ve read this far, you’re clearly committed. That makes these Greylag Goose skewers (<- Sponsored Link) worth considering. They complete the presentation, making your Honey Deuce look like it came straight from one of the bars under the stands at Arthur Ashe Stadium.
Honey Deuce Merch
New this year, the US Open Shop has expanded the Honey Deuce merchandise offerings, breaking beyond the barriers of mere cups and bar accessories. This year, fans can choose from premium apparel, including a Peter Millar polo and graphic t-shirts in both long and short sleeve styles. They are also selling a variety of hats, a Honey Deuce towel, and a collectible 2025 pin. For those looking to go all in, the US Open Party Pack bundles themed items together for the ultimate at-home Honey Deuce experience.
This dedicated line of products reflects how firmly the Honey Deuce has become a part of the US Open tradition. The question is… for how long. In 2025, a new limited-edition signature cocktail will be unveiled at the US Open. How that new contender might stack up against the Honey Deuce is the subject of tomorrow’s post.

I am a fan of frozen melon balls! You just end up with extra cantaloupe balls for breakfast.
