World Team Tennis taking 2022 off; seeks new franchises

World TeamTennis, the mixed-gender league co-founded nearly a half-century ago by Billie Jean King, will not have a season in 2022 but plans to return next year. ATP men’s tennis tour cancels 4 China tournaments in 2022

The Rolex Shanghai Masters, China Open, Chengdu Open and Zhuhai Championships were called off by the ATP on Thursday due to COVID-19 restrictions. Hewitt Cements Legacy with International Tennis Hall of Fame Induction

Australia’s Lleyton Hewitt received the ultimate honor in tennis on Saturday as he was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame. An inductee from the Class of 2021, Hewitt’s induction celebrations were deferred to 2022 due to travel restrictions. But, the Wimbledon champion, US Open champion, and two-time Davis Cup champion got his moment in Newport, Rhode Island over the weekend on the famed International Tennis Hall of Fame grounds.  Full Story: ITF

Tennis pro Mardy Fish made PGA Tour debut at 3M Open

The 40-year-old Minnesota native competed in last week’s 3M Open on a sponsor exemption. Fish has proven he can succeed in a competitive golf setting – he won the 2020 American Century Championship, a celebrity golf tournament that is nationally televised.
