World Team Tennis taking 2022 off; seeks new franchises
World TeamTennis, the mixed-gender league co-founded nearly a half-century ago by Billie Jean King, will not have a season in 2022 but plans to return next year. ATP men’s tennis tour cancels 4 China tournaments in 2022
The Rolex Shanghai Masters, China Open, Chengdu Open and Zhuhai Championships were called off by the ATP on Thursday due to COVID-19 restrictions. Hewitt Cements Legacy with International Tennis Hall of Fame Induction
Australia’s Lleyton Hewitt received the ultimate honor in tennis on Saturday as he was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame. An inductee from the Class of 2021, Hewitt’s induction celebrations were deferred to 2022 due to travel restrictions. But, the Wimbledon champion, US Open champion, and two-time Davis Cup champion got his moment in Newport, Rhode Island over the weekend on the famed International Tennis Hall of Fame grounds.
