More than 150 people attended this week’s Greenville City Council meeting to demonstrate their dissatisfaction with Greenville Recreation and Parks’ decision to convert three tennis courts at Elm Street Park into pickleball courts. The Valley City Park Board voted 4-1 on a plan to remove tennis courts from City Park and install pickle ball courts on February 1st. Since then, members of the Valley City Tennis Association and Valley City Park board member Susan Kringlie are concerned that the city would lose City Park tennis courts heavily used for junior tennis, VCHS, VCTA, and by community members.     Someone should analyze the college scholarship aspect of tennis vs “p…”. Closing tennis courts is reducing the opportunity for our youth to get financial help in college. Until they start college “p…” competition. I cannot bring myself to type the word! 🤣
