According to the media, the anticipated COVID “Baby Boom” didn’t materialize. Apparently the people in my orbit didn’t get the memo, because I have been celebrating the arrival of quite a few little ones lately. In the process I have discovered a new “go-to” gift for such occasions.

The Little Sport Star Baby Tennis Racket is a multi-purpose baby toys. First there is a loop with a teething ring attached. That connection point could just as easily be used to secure a pacifier. The “grip” of the racquet is a very satisfying squeak toy. It… actually entertained me for the better part of a minute as I was gift wrapping the one I distributed last week.

Additionally the ball makes a bell sound and the face of the racquet makes a crinkly sound when squeezed. There are three silk tabs sewn in across the top of the racquet. Stroking silky material is a highly underrated soothing mechanism for babies. It is simply a great toy for a newborn baby.

I am not restricting this gift to babies of tennis playing parents. I figure those kids will be exposed to tennis anyway. However, placing a facsimile of a racquet into a babies hands might spark interest in the sport in the parents. It certainly can’t hurt.

The Little Sport Star Baby Tennis Racket is a chance to give a gift that will be appreciated that distinctly reflects on the giver. Additionally it is a chance to be an ambassador for the sport.
