This week I stumbled across a massive document from the official Wimbledon website that contains a treasure trove of information about the tournament. The Wimbledon Compendium includes 566 pages of almost everything you might want to know about the event. Included in that publication is a list of books about Wimbledon.

With the fortnight largely in the rearview mirror at this point, I have no intention of immediately exploring these titles. However, it is still a useful resource for planning candidate books to consider next year during the grasscourt season. Not surprisingly, The Wimbledon Compendium leans hard toward officially sanctioned All England Lawn Tennis Club (AELTC) publications.

The list of books runs for two and a half pages, but the length is artificially inflated by listing updated editions separately. Also, many of the more intriguing titles on the list have been out of print for a while. However, quite a few recent books are still in active publication and will likely be in the mix next year.

Here is what we may have to look forward to in 2024.
