A tennis racquet can stand in for the basket to make an adorable gift for Easter. This year the holiday falls on April 9, so you still have plenty of time to gather up the materials to assemble a thoughtful gift that shares your passion for our sport. This is a very creative way to give someone the gift of tennis.

The basket I made this year started out with a Quick Start racquet. The one I selected is appropriate for a pre-schooler. However, it can scale to the age and size of the recipient. I would observe that the racquet needs to be strung in order to hold the plastic grass into place.

Tennis balls are an obvious thing to include in an Easter basket. Quick Start balls are pressureless, so those make obvious additions to a basket. For adults, I recommend the Wilson Triniti ball for this purpose.

I threw in a few plastic Eggs filled with string dampeners and over grips. The rest of the basket was filled out with cheap swag and chocolate from the local discount store. A cellophane gift bag wrapped tightly around the whole ensemble holds everything tightly into place.

Anybody can give a standard basket for Easter. This year, maybe you should consider the tennis racquet Easter basket to round out your gifting arsenal. I can think of no better way to give the gift of tennis to that special child in your life.
